Bookworm Reading NEW! Family-Style Story Times. Join Ms. Pat & Ms. Mary for a weekly story time for kids of all ages.  Stories, songs, puppets & crazy fun for all! Followed by a craft & snack!

POETRY WORKSHOPS FOR KIDS (4th—8th Grade). LET‘S WRITE! Saluki Writers Project (led by SIU English Grad Students).
  • February 14, 21, 28, March 21, 28, April 4 & 11 at 4:30-5:30 pm.
  • ONGOING REGISTRATION BEGINS FEB. 1.

PARTNERS IN READING. A free program for kids grades 1-5. Kids will explore books and reading activities one-to-one with their reading partners (SIUC students and members of the Library Volunteer Corps). Partners will select reading materials based on individual interests.
  • The 8-week program runs February 20-April 18. Each child signs up for 1 hour/week, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 3:30-4:30 or 4:30-5:30.
  • Register at the Circulation Desk through Feb 15.

Hey, Kids! Summer Youth Volunteers! 

The library needs volunteers, ages 12 — 17, to help with registration & special events for the Kid’s Summer Reading Program. Applications available May 1 & due June 6. Volunteers may choose shifts, any day of the week from June 11– July 20.
