Free Film: "Kind Hearted Woman"
WSIU and The Women’s Center in Carbondale will host a free screening of the Independent Lens/Frontline film, Kind Hearted Woman, on Saturday, April 6 at 2pm at the Carbondale Public Library (405 W. Main). The film follows the story of Robin Charboneau, an Oglala Sioux woman, and her struggles to heal from the wounds of childhood sexual abuse.
Jo Nast, Dr. Gray Whaley, and Jenn Freitag will lead a discussion following the film. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and this screening is one of many events scheduled.
