Senior Coffee Club 9/2/2014 at 9:30 am
Coffee and DoughnutsThe first Tuesday of each month, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., seniors are invited to come to the library’s meeting room for coffee, donuts and fun! Themes of interest to seniors will be presented each month. 
 
The Guest speaker for 9/2/2014 is Kim King-Wren sharing information about Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge.

Carbondale Public Library to Host Teen Author Visit
Deanna Francis 09152014Come meet the author who wrote a book and got it published as a teenager! Miss Deanna Francis will be at the Carbondale Public Library on September 15th at 6:30 pm. She will be discussing her books, her writing process and how she got published. This program is free and open to all age groups. Light refreshments will be served. Behavioral Strategies Discussion
On the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm, Ms. Keely Sabaini, from Monarch Behavioral Care, will host a discussion focusing on the functions of behaviors and how to redirect those behaviors toward a more positive result. This discussion is open to parents and adults wanting to learn how to work with small children. Discussions will take place in the Carbondale Public Library’s meeting room. Get Covered Illinois - Special Enrollment Period

Get Covered IllinoisOpen Enrollment for 2014 coverage is over, but if you have had a Qualifying Life Event or could not complete the process before March 31 due to a complex issue, you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP).

Every Friday in July and August from 9:00-11:00 am, LaShonda Thomas from the Jackson County Health Department will be on hand at the library for help with enrollment. Look for her downstairs by the internet computers.

Brown Bag and a Book Discussion Group
Brown BagBrown Bag and a Book Discussion Group is a group of book lovers that meets together every Monday at the Carbondale Public Library. Discussions are friendly and we try not to take ourselves too seriously. We keep discussions limited to one hour starting promptly at noon. Everyone is welcome. You do not have to be a Carbondale Public Library cardholder to be a part of the group. Just bring your brown bag lunch and one book to discuss/share to the Library’s Meeting Room on Monday afternoons at noon!

Tax Documents for Taxpayers with Disabilities
Did you know the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) provides online tax products and services for taxpayers with disabilities? Individuals may visit the IRS Accessibility page (www.irs.gov/uac/IRS.gov-Accessibility) to download forms, publications, and other products and to access tax-related videos in English and American Sign Language. The IRS recommends checking the website often as it is continuously adding more products to assist persons with disabilities.

Morningstar Mutual Funds Now Available Online
Morningstar Mutual Funds (paper version) is being discontinued at the library. You can now access the online version from home or at the library. 
You will have access to their classic one-page summaries, as well as detailed mutual fund, stock, and exchange-traded fund analysed reports, real-time data, and investment tools.

This useful website and many others can be found on our website by clicking on "Research Databases, Book Suggestions & Other Resources for You!" (located on the upper left hand of our website) and then selecting "Research Databases."
